TRANSPORTATION

You Hold the Keys to Healthier Air!

Old habits can be hard to break, but when it comes to transportation and our region’s air quality, it’s time to take a new look! The SW Pennsylvania Partnership, Inc. encourages you to leave your keys at home and consider ridesharing, taking the bus, biking or even, walking to work! Making a change in your old habits will save you money and improve our air quality.

Easy Ways to Make a Change!

Ride Share and Use CommuteInfo

Use the CommuteInfo program to find a ride sharing program that works for you!

The CommuteInfo program is dedicated to increasing the number of commuters in Southwestern PA sharing a ride to work or school. The goal is for commuters living, working or attending school within the 10-county Southwestern Planning Commission region to choose ridesharing at least twice a week by providing them with viable options, incentives and encouragement.

Working through cooperative partnerships with transportation management associations, transportation providers, businesses and non-profit service organizations, the CommuteInfo program is able to provide services throughout the Southwestern Pennsylvania region.

The CommuteInfo program offers a core set of services, including a toll free number 1-888-819-6110and a website www.commuteinfo.org for information and referrals, vanpool/carpool rider matching, consultations with employers about their relocation as well as their employees’ transportation needs, transit/biking/walking resources and information about park-n-ride facilities.

Ride a Bus

Our region has a number of transit systems that provide public transportation. Riding the bus provides an economical way to get you where you need to be.

Bike to Work

Riding your bike to work provides a number of benefits. Not only does it provide good cardiovascular exercise, but by biking just four miles, you can keep 15 pounds of pollutants out of our air!
